NOPD Investigating Homicide in Sixth District

NOPD Investigating Homicide in Sixth District

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred tonight (May 14, 2023) in the 3300 block of South Saratoga that left one person dead.   

At about 10:37 p.m., NOPD Sixth District officers responded to shots fired at the location. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male subject unresponsive lying on the sidewalk who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the body. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.   

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. Therefore, no additional details are currently available. 

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
